Eligibility Criteria

You may qualify for free phone service if your household meets income requirements or participates in certain federal or tribal assistance programs. These programs are designed to support low-income individuals and families with essential services including communication.

You may be eligible if someone in your household receives benefits from:

  • SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program)
  • Medicaid / Medi-Cal
  • SSI (Supplemental Security Income)
  • Veterans Pension or Survivors Benefits
  • Lifeline Assistance
  • WIC (Women, Infants, and Children Program)
  • Tribal Programs, including:
    • Bureau of Indian Affairs General Assistance
    • Tribal TANF
    • Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations
  • Federal Public Housing Assistance (Section 8)
  • Free or Reduced School Lunch or Breakfast Programs
  • LIHEAP (Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program)
  • Federal Pell Grant (Current Academic Year)

Income-Based Eligibility

Even if you’re not enrolled in any of the above programs, you may still qualify based on income. If your household income is at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines, you’re likely eligible.
